The shape of a card.

I have been redesigning my website for the third time in two years and I keep arriving at the same shape. A card. Not a homepage card — one of those product-tile rectangles with rounded corners and a hover lift. An actual card. A bordered rectangle with a title bar at the top, a body in the middle, and one or two buttons at the bottom that take you to another card.

It is, of course, a HyperCard. I know what year it is. I have spent enough time with the alternatives to know I am not building this out of nostalgia.

A card is the smallest unit of attention I can ask of a reader without apologising.
